How it works

  1. 1We read your recent public games from the Chess.com API (no password, nothing posted to your account).
  2. 2Stockfish runs in your browser and checks every one of your moves. Moves that throw away a lot of value are marked as mistakes.
  3. 3Each mistake is sorted into a pattern: hanging pieces, missed tactics, missed checkmates, king safety, endgame technique and more.
  4. 4You get the three patterns you repeat most, an example position for each, puzzles made from your own mistakes, and the lessons that train that skill.
  5. 5Your games and report stay in your browser unless you create a free account to sync them.

Where to find your Chess.com username

  • Open your profile on chess.com: the username is the last part of the address, chess.com/member/your-name.
  • Use the username, not your display name. Capital letters don't matter.
  • You can also paste the whole profile link: we take the username out of it.

FAQ

Is it free?add

Yes. The analysis runs in your browser with Stockfish, so there's nothing to pay and no account needed.

Do you need my Chess.com password?add

No. We only read your public games through Chess.com's public API, the same data anyone can see on your profile.

How many games does it check?add

Your most recent standard games (10 by default). More games give a clearer picture of the mistakes you repeat.

What if I play on Lichess?add

Use the Lichess version of this tool: same analysis, it just reads your games from Lichess instead.
